New Zealand-born Lochlain Stonehouse is an independent makeup artist known for his multidisciplinary approach to beauty and progressive influence within the brands he has represented.

Beginning his career at a MAC Cosmetics counter in 2012, Lochie went on to spend six years with the brand, working extensively backstage and as an educator.

Following his departure from Estée Lauder Companies, Lochie joined the L'Oréal Group in 2019, where he was appointed Director of Artistry for L'Oréal Luxe New Zealand. In this role, he oversaw artistry and education across luxury beauty brands including Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, Giorgio Armani Beauty, and Lancôme.

After stepping down from his corporate role in 2021, Lochie shifted his focus toward independent artistry, specialising in consulting, commissioned projects, editorial, runway, and celebrity work. He now resides between Los Angeles and his hometown of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

In 2025, Lochie was approached by Urban Decay to undertake a year-long contract as the brand’s Global Makeup Artist in Residence. The role encompassed consulting, creative direction, brand vision development, the creation of educational content across Instagram and TikTok, and directing teams of makeup artists for large-scale global Urban Decay campaigns featuring prominent brand ambassadors including American actress and singer Dove Cameron.
